Course Description

The Diploma of Electrical Engineering at IUEA gives students grounding in the underlying principles of electronic and electrical engineering.

The programme is designed to produce highly qualified technicians for manufacturing, assembling, servicing, power generation, transmission and utilization, telecommunications and other industries.

Upon completion of an IUEA Diploma in Electrical Engineering students should be able to;

  • Construct simple electrical and electronic circuits when necessary for use in modification or as a part of a system

  • Assemble, install and test-run simple electrical and electronic equipment

  • Carry out both preventive and corrective maintenance on simple electronic/electrical installations, equipment and appliances

  •  Select and use appropriate instruments to carry out simple tests and measurements on all types of electrical and electronic installations and equipment under various operating conditions;

  • Operate relevant equipment and installations whenever required

  • Communicate technical information effectively
